1.2V Ni-MH in sizes:
- AAA / AA / A / SC / C / D

VX4 is an advanced intelligent charger that automatically recognizes the type of battery placed in it (except for Li-FePO4).
Additionally, it has 4 independent channels, allowing you to mix different types and sizes of batteries, with a small exception - the charger cannot simultaneously charge regular Li-ion batteries and Li-FePO4.
You can also mix types to the maximum:
1.5V Li-ion + 3.6/3.7V Li-ion + 1.2V Ni-Mh
or
1.5V Li-ion + 3.2 Li-FePO4 + 1.2V Ni-Mh

The first charger that can measure the actual capacity of lithium-ion batteries 1.5V in AA and AAA sizes!
In addition to the normal charging function, the charger also has a battery testing function.
WARNING! Capacity measurement does not work with Xtara R6 / AA batteries with a capacity of 2700mAh and 3000mAh
This involves charging the battery to full, then discharging it (measuring the actual capacity during this process) and after the discharge process is complete, the charger recharges the batteries to full. This way, we can know the true total capacity of the battery. Mixing types is equally dependent as in the case of the charging function. Physically, we can only discharge:
1.5V Li-ion + 3.6/3.7V Li-ion + 1.2V Ni-Mh
or
1.5V Li-ion + 3.2 Li-FePO4 + 1.2V Ni-Mh

The Xtar VX4 charger gives the user the option of manual charging current for selected quantities and types of batteries.
For Li-ion 1.5V and 1.2V Ni-MH batteries, the charger always charges at 0.5A, while for Li-ion 3.6/3.7V and 3.2V Li-FePO4 batteries, the user can choose from a wide range of charging currents:
1x 3A / 2x 2A / 4x 1A / 4x 0.5A / 4x 0.25A - ideal current for batteries with low capacity
To fully utilize the charging capabilities of the charger, a PD 20W compatible charger should be used.
The VX4 will also work with weaker power supplies, but will limit the ability to charge at higher currents.

The Xtar VX4 charger continuously informs the user about the basic parameters of the batteries placed in it.
Thanks to this, we can continuously see the charging current, the amount of charge used to charge the battery, and the voltage present on the battery.
The exception is 1.5V Li-ion batteries - here during the charging process we only see the actual charging current.

We already know that the VX4 charger allows for manual adjustment of the charging current, but we must also mention that it can also optimally select this current by itself.
The advanced processor will select the appropriate charging current based on the number of batteries placed, their internal resistance, and the connected power source.

The charger Xtar VX4 has a reactivation function for deeply discharged cells and cells with a voltage of 0V. Many chargers on the market are unable to charge such batteries. Here, the Xtar VX4 charger comes to the rescue, which in many cases allows for the 'rescue' of such cells. Just insert the deeply discharged battery into the VX4 charger, just like with normal charging - the charger will detect the discharged cell and attempt to reactivate it.
Note! Cells discharged below a certain level may suffer irreversible damage and their reactivation may be impossible. It is advisable to avoid excessive deep discharge of Li-ion and Ni-MH batteries - this can lead to significant reduction in their lifespan and capacity or render them completely inoperable.

What is the TC/CC/CV charging method? It is a three-stage charging process for Li-ion cells that ensures the cell remains in good condition by charging with the appropriate current at each stage and completing the charging process at the right moment.
The individual stages of the TC/CC/CV process are:
- TC Phase: cells discharged below 2.9V are 'woken up' with a lower current.
- CC Phase: after reaching 2.9V, the cell is charged with a constant current of value from 0.1A to 3A (depending on the power source used and the number of batteries being charged).
- CV Phase: when the cell is almost fully charged, the charger switches to charging with a decreasing current until the voltage of 4.2V is reached on the cell. After reaching 4.2V, the charging process is complete - the battery is fully charged.

The Xtar VX4 charger is equipped with a number of protections, allowing you to have peace of mind knowing that every battery will be fully and correctly charged. It has among others the following protections:
